SIGHTS IN HAMBURG
Jungfernstieg and the Inner Alster
Whether you want to go shopping in the city's most famous department stores, such as the Alsterhaus, or simply go for a Sunday stroll: Jungfernstieg is the heart of the Hanseatic city. It bears its name thanks to the old tradition of walks of parents with their unmarried daughters that took place here. Nowhere else do you notice the connection of the city with the water as much as at the Binnenalster: Here the cheerful Alsterdampf trips begin and here the city meets for strolling, for shopping or simply to sit in the sun and enjoy a coffee.
The UNESCO Cultural Heritage - the Speicherstadt
The cultural heart of the city of Hamburg beats in the Speicherstadt. Here you will find countless highly regarded museums, exciting manufactories and culinary highlights. But nothing is more impressive than a walk at night between the brightly lit brick houses of the old Speicherstadt, which are reflected in the numerous canals in the water. The Speicherstadt is a real feast for the neo-Gothic architecture lover. Another architectural highlight in Hamburg is located not far from the Speicherstadt, in the adjacent Kontorhaus quarter - the Chilehaus. Framed by the Hafen-City and the Elbphilharmonie, the Speicherstadt is an absolute must.
St. Pauli and Reeperbahn
Nowhere is Hamburg shriller than on the Reeperbahn. World-famous and notorious, life rages here in the alleys. Among the hamburgers, the district is also known as the "Kiez". Not only the operetta house, but also numerous table dance bars, discos and student pubs line the streets here. The Reeperbahn is still world-famous as a place of numerous distractions.
The Port of Hamburg, the Landungsbrücken and the Fish Market
The Port of Hamburg is the second largest port in Europe and that alone makes this place particularly worth seeing. An entertaining round trip with the barge, past the landing bridges to the container ports, offers itself at any time. At night the many lights of the harbour shine and envelop it in a very special ambience.
Hamburg's fish market has a long tradition and begins, as it did a hundred years ago, in the early morning hours. Experience the entertaining salesmen or refresh yourself after a night on Sankt Pauli. Despite its tourist fame, the fish market has retained its old charm.
Our direct surroundings
The surroundings of our hotel are particularly suitable for both business travellers and those seeking peace and quiet. Business travellers appreciate the convenient location of our hotel and holidaymakers in the adjacent nature reserve.
The district of Hamburg Moorfleet is particularly attractive for nature lovers and hikers due to its proximity to the countryside. The Dove-Elbe Water Park nature reserve is only 3.7 kilometres away. Here you can go on long hikes in wonderful nature along the various tributaries of the Elbe and the small lakes. There is also a regatta course for various water sports in the water park. In the north of the water park there is also a bathing area to jump into the cool water and refresh yourself after the hike. Another destination are the dunes of Boberg, which are also very interesting for nature lovers. The nature reserve Boberger Niederung, with its varied mixture of sand dunes, woodland and heath, offers a good opportunity to escape from the hectic pace and the hustle and bustle of the nearby big city.
