Design rooms for arriving & feeling good

Here you can check into accommodation with a timeless modern style, spread over a total of 218 rooms. Our superior rooms are available as single and double rooms ranging in size from 14 m2 to 22 m2 with king-size bed, carpeted floor, wardrobe, soundproof windows, bathroom with ground-level shower and many other amenities. PLAZA Premium Munich also has 18 maisonette rooms. All studio rooms open out onto the backyard and offer comfort on 33 m2. On the lower level of the studios, there is a lounge area with a kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker, a desk and the bathroom with ground-level shower. The upper area houses the king-size bed and the TV, which is standard in all rooms of the house. In addition, individually adjustable heating or air conditioning is available in all 218 rooms.

Conferences at the PLAZA Hotel

Are you planning a smaller event or a conference? You are welcome to hold it at PLAZA Premium Munich. Our two conference and event rooms "Marienplatz" and "Englischer Garten" are available for this purpose. The "Marienplatz" is ideal for smaller private celebrations and meetings for up to twelve people. It can be optionally booked with modern conference technology. The "Englischer Garten" room is also designed for celebrations, but also for conferences and presentations. It can accommodate up to 60 people. Both rooms are air-conditioned. You will find the various seating arrangements in the "Conference Centre" tab. 

How to get there

PLAZA Premium München in Munich's student district/Schwabing North is easy to reach both by public transport and by car. Various public transport stops (bus, underground) are within walking distance. The A9 motorway in the immediate vicinity takes you directly to long-distance traffic or to Munich city centre. Our PLAZA Premium Munich has an underground car park with over 80 parking spaces.

A must-see - Munich sights

English Garden
Munich's largest park is the English Garden. It is bigger than Central Park in New York! The English Garden invites you to stroll, relax and play sports. Here, even experienced surfers will get their money's worth by riding the Eisbach wave and riders will enjoy a ride on horseback along the numerous bridle paths. From the famous Monopteros you get a fantastic view of the Munich skyline. The Chinese Tower is also worth a visit and a traditional tea ceremony is held regularly in the Japanese Tea House. Other highlights include the Kocherlball and the Japanfest in July, as well as the Munich University Riding School.

Nymphenburg Palace invites you on a journey back to the times of the electors, dukes and kings. Here you can learn a lot about the history of Munich and the Bavarian rulers in the Palace Museum and the Marstall Museum. In the Beauty Gallery you can see, among other things, a picture of Lola Montez, Ludwig I's mistress. The palace can be visited independently. There are regular themed and group tours. The palace park with its park castles invites you to stroll, explore and relax. Take time out for a gondola ride on the canal. Throughout the year, Nymphenburg Palace hosts concerts and lectures on a variety of topics.

Marienplatz is the centre of Munich. Here you will find the Old Town Hall, the New Town Hall and the Mariensäule, which commemorates the end of the 30 Years War. Events take place on Marienplatz all year round. The pedestrian zone (Kaufingerstraße, Theatinerstraße, Residenzstraße) also starts here. Very close to Marienplatz are the Viktualienmarkt and the Frauenkirche. A special highlight is the historic carillon at the New Town Hall. It has been entertaining onlookers with 16 figures and 43 bells since 1908.

The landmark of the city of Munich: The Frauenkirche. From a height of almost 99 m you can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view of Munich's old town. Only the south tower is accessible. You can also reach the viewing platform via a lift. 

Karlsplatz (Stachus)

Karlsplatz or Stachus is an important and well-known square in Munich. It marks the western entrance to the pedestrian zone and is an important junction for Munich's public transport system. It received its official name "Karlsplatz" from Elector Karl Theodor. It owes its unofficial name "Stachus" to an inn that used to exist here and belonged to an Eustachius Förderl. The Stachus is still one of the busiest squares in Europe, even though cars have not crossed it since 1972. There are stops here for trams, undergrounds, buses and S-Bahns, which travel from the Stachus to almost every destination in Munich. In summer, the Stachus fountain is in operation. In winter, the Munich Ice Magic takes place here with an ice skating rink. Under the Stachus are the Stachus Passagen - Europe's largest underground shopping centre.

Odeons Platz is the northern boundary of the pedestrian zone. Ludwigstraße begins here. The Odeon was once Munich's most famous concert hall, but was destroyed during the Second World War. Only the façade was preserved with the help of a reconstruction. Today, the Bavarian Ministry of the Interior is located here. The covered inner courtyard shows how large the former concert hall of the Odeon was. The Odeon square is also home to the Munich Residenz, Germany's largest inner-city palace with a courtyard garden, the Feldherrnhalle and the Theatinerkirche with its striking bright yellow façade.

The Munich Residenz is the largest inner-city palace in Germany and was the residence and seat of government of the Bavarian dukes, electors and kings from 1508 to 1918. The Munich Residenz includes the Königsbau with the residential palace and the rulers' rooms, the Antiquarium, the inner courtyards well worth seeing, the Hercules Hall, bronze halls, the Cuvilliés Theatre and the Treasury. With a free audio guide, the rooms with works of art, jewels and crowns can be visited independently. There are always special themed tours for adults, children and school classes. A special highlight has been accessible again since June 2021 for the first time since its destruction in the Second World War: The Yellow Staircase. 28 steps framed by polished stucco marble and covered by a twelve-metre-high dome lead to the chambers of the Residenz. The courtyard garden with the famous Diana Temple is always worth a visit to escape the city hustle and bustle for a short while.

Experience the Deutsches Museum - one of the largest natural science museums in the world - in Munich. Here technology and the laws of nature are impressively presented, illustrated and explained. On 20,000 m2, 19 permanent exhibitions from atomic physics to robotics are waiting to be explored. An additional highlight is the "Forum of the Future" with Streaming Dome and Virtual Reality Lab. On 85 hectares, the Olympic Park Munich offers something for everyone. Here you can relax, experience nature as well as visit sights such as the Olympic Stadium, the Olympic Hall and the Olympic Tower. Here you will find numerous sporting activities from swimming and rowing to Nordic walking and tennis. Throughout the Olympic Park, many different events, functions and concerts take place throughout the year. The Olympic Tower, with its 291.28 metres, is waiting to be conquered and, as a reward, offers a breathtaking view of Munich and its surroundings.

The Alte Pinakothek houses paintings from the 14th to the 18th century. 700 paintings from all over Europe by Dürer, Rembrandt, Altdorfer, Rubens, Botticelli, da Vinci, Raphael, Titian and many more captivate many visitors every year. The Neue Pinakothek is closed for several years (until 2025) due to fundamental renovations, so about 90 exhibits from the end of the 18th century to the beginning of the 20th century are also in the Alte Pinakothek. Here you can admire works by van Gogh, Klimt, Segantini and many other artists. In addition to the exhibitions, the Alte Pinakothek offers readings, workshops, concerts and regular special exhibitions.

Four museums are united under the roof of the Pinakothek der Moderne on 12,000 m2. They are dedicated to the themes of design, modern art, architecture and graphic art. Classic guided tours of the Pinakothek der Moderne can be booked, but guided tours of individual artists and special exhibitions are also available. An interactive discovery tour is available free of charge for children aged five and over. The children explore all the collections in a scavenger hunt with a surprise at the end. Free workshops for children aged five to twelve are also offered every Sunday.

The Hellabrunn Zoo was founded in 1911 as the world's first geo-zoo. Here you can experience the animals without disturbing fences and grids arranged according to continents at any time of the year. It is home to over 750 animal species, some of which live in communities with several animal species. Regular feedings here become the highlight of any visit to the zoo for the whole family.

Oktoberfest
The largest folk festival in the world, the Oktoberfest in Munich, takes place every year on the Theresienwiese. The Wiesn was first celebrated in 1810 for the wedding of King Ludwig I and Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen. Since 2010, a second site right next door, the Oide Wiesn, has allowed visitors to experience the Oktoberfest as it was in the old days.

Germany's largest opera house is well worth a visit, with almost 350 opera and ballet performances a year. Since 1818, the National Theatre has been the home of the Bavarian State Opera. Richard Wagner's masterpieces "Tristan and Isolde", "The Master Singers of Nuremberg", "Das Rheingold" and "Die Walküre" were premiered here. A special highlight is the annual opera festival at the end of the season. The opera festival has been staged since 1875.

Viktualienmarkt
The Viktualienmarkt offers a unique market experience between the typical figural fountains and Munich's most central beer garden. Here you will find local produce and products and can fill up at the numerous food stalls. The Viktualienmarkt beer garden awaits you with typical Bavarian dishes and a changing beer menu. Beer from Munich's six major breweries is served here on a rotating basis - every six weeks it's the turn of a different one.
