Do I need a special app for the mobile key?
No. The mobile key works directly through your browser - no app installation required.
What happens if my cell phone runs out of battery?
In this case, please contact the reception desk. We will be happy to issue you with a traditional key card. If the reception desk is unattended, you can reach us via an emergency number.
Can I use the mobile key for multiple rooms?
The digital key is valid for the room you booked. If you book multiple rooms, you will receive a separate mobile key for each room.
Is the mobile key secure?
Yes. Our solution is based on modern encryption technologies. The key is only active for the duration of your stay and cannot be used by third parties. After check-out, the mobile key is automatically deleted.
Can I activate the mobile key before arrival?
Full activation of the mobile key is only possible on site at the hotel, as your smartphone requires location/GPS access for security reasons. You can conveniently check in online from 3 p.m. on the day of arrival while you are still traveling.
What happens with a last-minute booking?
Even with last-minute bookings, you will receive the mobile key link immediately after confirmation—usually within a few minutes.
Can I share the digital room key with others (e.g., fellow travelers)?
For security reasons, the mobile key is personalized and cannot be shared with fellow travelers.
Is the mobile key available in all PLAZA hotels?
We are gradually introducing mobile key in more and more PLAZA Hotels. You will find information on the website of your desired hotel if the location already offers this service. After you have made your booking, we will also inform you by email whether your hotel already offers this function.
How does the mobile key work for group bookings or family trips?
If you have booked multiple rooms, you will receive a separate digital key for each room.
What are the technical requirements?
All you need is a smartphone with Wi-Fi connection and location access. The Mobile Key works on iOS and Android—no app download required.
What happens if my link doesn't work?
If you have any problems opening or activating the key, our hotel team will be happy to help you on site or by phone.
How secure is my personal data with Mobile Key?
Data protection is our top priority. Your information is encrypted in accordance with GDPR and is not shared with third parties.
