Hanau itself is located east of Frankfurt am Main. Frankfurt Airport is approximately 45 minutes away by car and 60 minutes by train. The distance to Frankfurt is approximately 35 minutes by car and train. Hanau is also located northwest of Aschaffenburg, a 40-minute drive away. Due to its central location, the hotel is ideal for both business and leisure travelers. A large parking lot is available on site (fees apply).
For tourists, the picturesque old town of Hanau is a convenient destination. The Neustadt Town Hall on the market square, with the Brothers Grimm National Monument, is just one of many attractions in the immediate vicinity. It is an 8-minute walk away. St. Mary's Church is only a 12-minute walk away in Hanau's old town. Numerous bars and restaurants can also be found there. Those who enjoy spending their free time by the water are spoiled for choice. Hanau's city center is situated between the Kinzig and Main rivers, which converge there.

Of course, we offer our guests a generous breakfast buffet. From hot and sweet to savory dishes, as well as specialty coffees and a wide selection of teas and juices, it leaves nothing to be desired. Of course, all these facilities are also available to all other guests. Our hotel is an ideal location for exploring both Hanau and nearby Frankfurt. The historic old town is right on our doorstep. You can find a detailed list of our city's attractions at the bottom of the website. Nature lovers will also enjoy a trip to the "Alte Fasanerie" wildlife park. Those interested in big-city life can reach Frankfurt, with its skyscrapers, booming nightlife, and diverse cultural scene, within 35 minutes by train or car.
Hanau boasts a significant past and present. The German Goldsmiths' House, for example, is one of the most important exhibitions of goldsmithing and silversmithing in Europe. It is located in the Old Town Market Square, surrounded by numerous half-timbered houses. The New Town Hall, on the other hand, is a Baroque building from the 18th century. A carillon can be heard several times a day in the building's main tower. The Gothic Protestant St. Mary's Church is also located in Hanau's Old Town. The chancel is the oldest surviving structure in the Old Town.
But Hanau also has much to offer nature lovers. The historic Wilhelmsbad spa facilities are among the most popular recreational destinations in the Rhine-Main region. A large expanse of water and mature trees create a pleasant atmosphere. Historic buildings such as the artificial castle ruins of the Counts of Hanau and the fountain temple along the park promenade further enhance the spa facilities, making them both a natural and cultural highlight.
Equally majestic is Philippsruhe Palace with its historical museum. Designed in the French style, it boasts a spacious park. Another castle is Steinheim Palace, home to a significant collection of regional prehistory and early history artifacts.
The Alte Fasanerie Wildlife Park is located in the south of Hanau. Established in 1710 by the Archbishop of Mainz, Lothar Franz von Schönborn, it includes its own hunting lodge and covers 38 hectares.

Hanau is a city in the eastern part of the Rhine-Main region, located at the confluence of the Kinzig and Main rivers. Our city is surrounded by an extensive forest belt, the Bulau. Thanks to its central location, numerous cities – such as Frankfurt am Main, Offenbach, and Aschaffenburg – are easily accessible.
The hotel is just 0.6 km from Hanau city center. Frankfurt Airport is only 29 km away and can be reached from Hanau Central Station, which is 1 km from the hotel. The Frankfurt Trade Fair (38 km) and Frankfurt city center (22 km) are also in the immediate vicinity of the Plaza Hotel Hanau.
Hanau is easily accessible from Frankfurt Airport by train or S-Bahn (suburban train). The relevant lines are the S1, S8, S9, RE, and RB to Hanau and Frankfurt. The route goes through Frankfurt city center. Hanau is most easily reached by car via the A66 and A45 motorways, both of which run through the city. The A3 motorway from Cologne to Nuremberg also passes just south of Hanau.
