Hanau is located east of Frankfurt am Main. Frankfurt city center can be reached by car or train in approximately 35 minutes, while Frankfurt Airport is about 45 minutes away by car and 60 minutes by train. Aschaffenburg is roughly a 40-minute drive away. A large, paid parking lot is available directly at the hotel. In addition, four electric vehicle charging stations with a charging capacity of 22 kW are available.
Hanau's historic old town, with its many sights, is easily accessible on foot from the hotel. The Neustadt Town Hall on the market square, featuring the Brothers Grimm National Monument, is about an 8-minute walk away, and St. Mary's Church can be reached in approximately 12 minutes. Numerous bars and restaurants in the old town invite you to linger. The Kinzig and Main rivers are also nearby.

What sights does Hanau offer?
Hanau boasts a rich past and present. The German Goldsmiths' House, for example, is one of the most important exhibitions of goldsmithing and silversmithing in Europe. It is located on the Old Town Market Square, surrounded by numerous half-timbered houses. The New Town Hall, on the other hand, is a Baroque building dating from the 18th century. Several times a day, visitors can enjoy a carillon in the building's main tower. The Gothic Protestant St. Mary's Church is also located in Hanau's Old Town. Its chancel is the oldest surviving structure in the Old Town.
But Hanau also has much to offer nature lovers. The historic Wilhelmsbad spa facilities are among the most popular recreational destinations in the Rhine-Main region. Extensive water features and mature trees create a pleasant atmosphere. Historic buildings such as the artificial castle ruins of the Count of Hanau and the fountain temple on the park promenade further ensure that the spa facilities are both a natural and cultural highlight.
Equally majestic is Philippsruhe Palace with its historical museum. It is designed in the French style and boasts extensive parkland. Another castle is Steinheim Palace, which houses a significant collection of regional prehistory and early history artifacts.
The Alte Fasanerie Wildlife Park is located in the south of Hanau. It was established in 1710 by the Archbishop of Mainz, Lothar Franz von Schönborn, and includes its own hunting lodge. The park covers 38 hectares.

Hanau is a city in the east of the Rhine-Main region, located at the confluence of the Kinzig and Main rivers. Our city is surrounded by an extensive belt of forest, the Bulau. Due to its central location, numerous cities – such as Frankfurt am Main, Offenbach, and Aschaffenburg – are easily accessible from here.
The hotel is 0.6 km from Hanau city center. Frankfurt Airport is only 29 km away and can be reached from Hanau Central Station, which is 1 km from the hotel. The Frankfurt Trade Fair (38 km) and Frankfurt city center (22 km) are also in the immediate vicinity of the Plaza Hotel Hanau.
Hanau is easily accessible from Frankfurt Airport by train or S-Bahn (suburban train). The relevant lines are the S1, S8, S9, RE (Regional Express), and RB (Regionalbahn) to Hanau and Frankfurt. The route goes through Frankfurt city center. By car, Hanau is most quickly reached via the A66 and A45 motorways, both of which run through the city. The A3 motorway from Cologne to Nuremberg also runs just south of Hanau.

The Brothers Grimm Monument was erected in honor of the Brothers Grimm, who were born in Hanau. It was unveiled in front of the Neustadt Town Hall in Hanau in 1896.
Philippsruhe Castle is located in the west of the city of Hanau near Kesselstadt and was built as a Baroque castle for Count Philipp Reinhard of Hanau between approximately 1700 and 1725.
