PLAZA INN Salzburg City is a hotel close to the centre of Salzburg, around 600 metres from the main station, between the station and the Mirabell Gardens. If you arrive by train, you walk to the hotel. Mirabell Palace and the Mirabell Gardens are about ten minutes on foot, the Getreidegasse with Mozart's birthplace around twenty. Congress Salzburg sits at the edge of the Mirabell Gardens, on the way into the old town.
The building was fully renovated in 2024. It has 42 rooms, an air-conditioned lobby with seating areas and free high-speed Wi-Fi throughout.
Rooms
Every room has its own bathroom with a rain shower, air conditioning you control yourself, a flat-screen TV, a coffee and tea station, a safe and a hairdryer. Depending on the room, you look out over the city's roofs or towards the mountains. The Superior Double Room has a terrace facing Maria Plain.
Breakfast, drinks and snacks
The hotel does not serve breakfast. A vending machine in the lobby has chilled drinks, sweets and savoury snacks. Bakeries and restaurants for breakfast and dinner are a few minutes' walk away.

You check in at reception or, outside reception hours, at the check-in terminal in the lobby. With your reservation number you can also check in online before you arrive.
Getting here and parking
By car: take the A1 Westautobahn towards Salzburg, then on to Saint-Julien-Strasse 7. Parking at the hotel costs a fee. Spaces are limited and cannot be reserved: first come, first served.
By train, bus and plane:
- Salzburg main station: about 600 m on foot
- Salzburg Saint-Julien-Strasse bus stop: about 85 m
- Salzburg Airport: about 20 minutes by bus or train, depending on the connection
Dogs
Dogs are welcome for a fee. Assistance dogs stay free of charge.

Salzburg on foot
The Mirabell Gardens are about ten minutes' walk away. From there you look across the Salzach to Hohensalzburg Fortress, around 30 minutes on foot from the hotel. On the other side of the river are the cathedral and the Getreidegasse with Mozart's birthplace.
In summer the Salzburg Festival sets the pace of the city, in Advent the Christmas market. You can walk to both.
