The Studentenkarzer (students' prison) is located at the back of the Old University in Augustinergasse. Here, from 1778 to 1914, students were punished for "peccadilloes" (meaning minor transgressions which were kind of fashionable among otherwise honourable gentlemen inscribed at the Heidelberg University, most of them being members of student fraternities) such as violent mensuration, nocturnal disturbances of the peace, or other violations of public order - often they were humid and merry pranks.

The Karl Theodor Bridge, better known as the Old Bridge, is one of Heidelberg's landmarks. She and her wooden predecessors formed the northern main entrance to the city, protected by the bridge gate.

The Heiliggeistkirche is the largest and most important church in Heidelberg. With the apse facing the market square, it stands in the middle of Heidelberg's old town.

The market square is one of the oldest squares in Heidelberg. To the north and south, it is bordered by rows of houses, to the east of the market square the city hall is located, and to the west, the square is dominated by the Church of the Holy Spirit.

The former St. Stephen's Monastery is a ruin on the Heiligenberg. St. Stephen's, the second monastery on the Heiligenberg next to St. Michael's, was built around the year 1090 by the Benedictine Arnold.

The Philosophers’ Walk opens up a true postcard view of the old town, the river, the Old Bridge, the castle, and the highest mountain in the Odenwald, the King’s Seat, which towers over the city at almost 600 meters. From here you can enjoy a unique panorama of Heidelberg.

The Thingstätte was built from 1934 to 35 by the Reich Labour Service and Heidelberg students. The 56 rows of spectators, which slope 25 meters, could seat 20,000 people at the opening. The ceremony site was opened by Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels on June 22, 1935. The Thing site was said to have been built on an alleged Germanic cult site, thus passing it off as part of the National Socialist blood and soil mysticism.

The Michaelskloster on the Heidelberger Heiligenberg was founded as a branch monastery of the Lorsch monastery in the 9th century on the site of an old place of worship. The remains of the foundations and two towers of different heights have been preserved from the facility, which was abandoned in the 16th century.

Located in the Rhineland-Palatinate town of Speyer, it is the cathedral church of the Catholic Diocese of Speyer and the parish church of the cathedral parish.
