The student prison (Studentenkarzer) served as the student jail of Heidelberg University until 1914. Located behind the Old University building on Augustinergasse, the student prison was used from 1778 to 1914 for "gentlemanly offenses" such as violent duels, disturbing the peace at night, or other breaches of public order – often involving boisterous pranks.

The museum as a place of experience: The Friedrich Ebert House in Heidelberg's old town, with around 60,000 visitors annually, traces the path of the Social Democrat Friedrich Ebert to the highest office in the land with the exhibition "From Workers' Leader to Reich President – Friedrich Ebert (1871–1925)" and presents the moving German history from the German Empire to the Weimar Republic founded in 1918/19 from a biographical perspective.

The Church of the Holy Spirit is the largest and most important church in Heidelberg. With its apse facing the market square, it stands in the heart of Heidelberg's old town.

The market square is one of Heidelberg's oldest squares. It is bordered by rows of houses to the north and south, the town hall stands to the east, and the Church of the Holy Spirit dominates the west side.

The Karl Theodor Bridge, better known as the Old Bridge, is one of Heidelberg's landmarks. It and its wooden predecessors formed the main northern entrance to the city, protected by the bridge gate.

The former St. Stephen's Monastery is a ruin on the Heiligenberg (Holy Mountain). St. Stephen's, the second monastery on the Heiligenberg alongside St. Michael's, was built around the year 1090 by the Benedictine monk Arnold.

The Thingstätte on the Heiligenberg is an example of National Socialist architecture. It was built between 1934 and 1935 by the Reich Labor Service and students from Heidelberg. At its opening, the 56 rows of seats, which rise at a 25-meter incline, could accommodate 20,000 people.

St. Michael's Monastery on Heidelberg's Heiligenberg was founded in the 9th century as a branch monastery of Lorsch Abbey on the site of an ancient cult site. Foundation remains and two towers of different heights survive from the complex, which was abandoned in the 16th century.

The Königstuhl is Heidelberg's local mountain, rising to 568 meters. On the Königstuhl, you'll find an oasis of peace and relaxation, offering fantastic views of Heidelberg, the Neckar Valley, and the Rhine Plain.

The Benedictine abbey of Neuburg near Heidelberg, also known as Neuburg Abbey, Neuburg Monastery and Neuburg Monastery, is a Benedictine monastery and belongs to the Beuron Congregation.
