The Theresian Military Academy in Wiener Neustadt has its roots in a historic castle, which Empress Maria Theresa transformed into the world's oldest military school in 1751. Originally conceived as a training institution for 200 people, including nobles and commoners, the academy developed into the central training center for officers of the Habsburg Empire. Today, it continues this tradition, training a new generation of highly skilled men and women each year.
